Bright Ideas 2 was inspired by the artist's enthusiasm for solar energy as a viable alternative energy source. She thought it would be interesting to demonstrate the wonder of solar energy with a figure reaching skyward while holding up a solar panel. As a result of holding the panel in the proper position, the figure is coming up with lots of new ideas. The piece is constructed of scrap steel and perforated sheet metal. Lori Sturgess has been creating and designing her whole life. She has a rich background in restoration and hand-painted linens. She hopes her works will inspire green initiatives in communities around the country. Sturgess is a Georgia native, currently residing in Roswell.

Free Spirit by Jennifer Freeman

Free Spirit, as the title implies, is meant to depict a free and joyous woman delighted by life. The sculpture is created from fiberglass and cement substrate, partially covered by mosaic. It weighs 60 pounds and its dimensions are 4'x4'x4'. Cost to purchase – $8,000

Jennifer Freeman's focus is in the creation of fine art mosaics including two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces for both the private and public sectors. Arachnid by Damon Lusky

Inspiration comes to Damon Lusky from memory of childhood toys. "You know when you see something and you have that moment of reflection and you feel a smile on your heart," he says, "I think that's what I'm shooting for." Arachnid is around knee tall and 10 feet in diameter. It weighs approximately 200 pounds. Cost to purchase- $2,400

Damon Lusky began his journey as a metal artist as a self-taught practical welder and blacksmith. Over the years, he has broadened his range to include participation in local art shows, one-man exhibits, and showcases in local galleries, businesses, and residential settings. Prayer Booth by Dylan Mortimer

Prayer Booth plays on the idea of faith in the public realm. By morphing a telephone booth into a prayer station, the piece invites viewers to participate, or at least think about, the concept of prayer. It fuses humor with seriousness in order to ask questions about faith in public. Prayer Booth has been displayed in Kansas City, Chicago, Baltimore, Cedar Rapids and Dubuque (Iowa), New York City, Jackson (Tennessee), and Olathe and Lawrence, (Kansas). Intrusion by Harry McDaniel

Intrusion is an exploration of the interactions and energy created by pushing three large irregular forms very close together. The composition conveys a sense of tension between the three sections. The matching curvature of the gaps between sections draws the viewer's attention into those spaces. The middle section, differently finished from the other two, seems to be forcing its way between them, thus the title. The piece is constructed of steel, aluminum, and powder coat paint. Harry McDaniel has always enjoyed creating and constructing. He has taken a few arts classes, but is largely self-taught. Deconstructed Bolt by Andrew T. Crawford

Deconstructed Bolt is a result of the artist's intensive study of mechanical movement, the craft of drafting, and machinery design. Directly referencing the techniques of collage, this piece looks as though it has been cut apart and rearranged creating a playful gesture in an otherwise stationary object. The sunbeam itself is hope, a new day breaking the darkness and bringing a stronger day. Sunbeam II denotes strength. In this case, the beam is fragmented, showing that even the strongest can be taken apart and reshaped. What was once a straight line now dances in a spiral toward the sky. Sydney Atkinson, a Georgia native, received his bachelor of fine arts degree from Atlanta College of Art and his master's of fine arts from Cranbrook Academy of the Arts in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Dreams of Flying by Harry Zmijewski

Picasso, the famous Spanish artist, once said, "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child." The artist was intrigued by this statement and formulated the design of Dreams of Flying using a creative process much like that of a child: fresh, clean and, simple. Amne by Harry Zmijewski

Amne is a Tibetan word that represents a tall cloth-covered pole with tassels at the top. They are located in villages, monasteries, and parks, among other places. These poles are symbolic and made to protect the people where they are located from harm. In the artist's version, he has used recycled car bumpers to form the contemporary abstract sculpture that resembles the Tibetan amne. The piece weighs 500 pounds and its dimensions are 15'x7'x7'. Sticks 7 was inspired by the seventh anniversary of the Tannery Row Artist Colony in Buford. Each stick represents one year of the art colony. Every stick is as unique as the years spent at Tannery Row; some sticks are long and represent good years; others are shorter and represent tough years; and the "in between" lengths represent the average years. Dennis Primm is a local metal artisan, creating and residing in Buford, Georgia.
