BIG THINGS ARE HAPPENING AROUND TOWN!
Town Center on Main + DeLay Nature Park
The City of Suwanee broke ground in September 2022 on the expansion of Town Center on Main + DeLay Nature parks. The 25-acre site of the future Town Center on Main and DeLay Nature Park sits behind the Suwanee library and PlayTown Suwanee on Suwanee Dam Road. The property was purchased in 2002 as an early acquisition of the community-driven comprehensive park and open space initiative.
Town Center on Main will be an urban-style greenspace with its own unique character, personality, and purpose, separate from Town Center Park as we know it. Similar to how City Hall relates to the existing park, the library will serve as the anchor for this new space. The majority of the site – roughly 15 of the wooded 25 acres along the existing Brushy Creek Greenway – will remain undisturbed and be designated as the DeLay Nature Park.
Pierce’s Corner | 597 Main Street
The 6,000-square-foot brick building in Old Town – constructed around 1909 – is owned by the city’s Downtown Development Authority. The building is currently being renovated to house a new restaurant.
Martin Farm Road Bridge
The Martin Farm Road bridge replacement and detour is a Georgia Department of Transportation project (ID#0015618). Click here for project updates. The 240-foot replacement bridge will be more structurally sound, lessen flooding, and meet current design standards.
