Reaching by Justin Wilson

A mix of forms and color, this sculpture lifts off its base and invokes a sense of "reaching" skyward. Fabricated from metal plate, Reaching has a ¼" metal band welded to all edges to create a smooth edge. The metal is painted; some surfaces are black and others are white. Justin Wilson is an undergraduate 3D art major at Georgia Southern University, where fellow SculpTour artist Marc Moulton is an instructor. Wilson, who calls metro Atlanta home, also is interested in architecture and computer-aided design. Reaching is his first large-scale work for a public environment. Wilson's work is influenced by modern linear drawings of tribal tattoo designs as well as the bold visual impact of graphic arts.

Oracle by Aaron P. Hussey

In the form of an architectural breast plate and classical bust, Oracle presents the wise elder who holds a column shape in one hand and a hornet in the other, illustrating human civilization and nature, respectively. His hands are poised in a manner that signifies that he is comparing the weight of each. His own body is a steel architectural structure. Oracle is 8' x 2' x 2' and weighs approximately 200 pounds. Intersection by Robert L. Coon

The title of this sculpture is, to the artist, self-explanatory. The forms, planes, and lines of Intersection all traverse one another. These intersections sometimes penetrate and sometimes give the illusion of penetration, but all are inextricably connected with the other elements. The connections are both structural and visual, working together to create a three-dimensional object and visual totality. Intersection is 11'5"x 3'6"x 4'8" and weighs approximately 90 pounds. Robert Coon earned his bachelor of fine arts degree in painting and drawing from the University of Georgia, where he studied with Lamar Dodd. Wind Sculpture Weathervane by Al Garnto

Wind Sculpture Weathervane is kinetic, put into motion by the wind's energy. Al Garnto works exclusively with recycled materials and found objects from rural Appalachia. Al Garnto was awarded a Presidential Scholarship to the Atlanta College of Art, where he majored in painting and sculpture, graduating in 1994. Gyres by Cynthia Knapp

Gyres is part of an ongoing sculpture series of painted relief and suspended pieces. As the title implies, the circular movement suggests an abstract, current-like formation. The long, narrow, painted panels are gestured references, like three-dimensional brushstrokes, that create a positive, uplifting, and colorful interplay of forms. Atlanta resident Cynthia Knapp's career of more than 30 years includes use of various media, from works on paper and canvas to large sculptural site installations. Pilgrim by Charlie Brouwer

The artist depicts the human figure in his outdoor sculptures in poses and situations that reveal something of the human condition, be it our desires, wonders and work, our questions concerning our purpose, or our relationships with one another and the world. Audubon Watcher by Jim Collins

The Watcher sculpture design series started in 1978. Over the years, Jim Collins has added Watchers constructed of various materials. Each Watcher is unique. The peaceful figure of the seated man is the key element of approximately 100 individual sculptures, which can be found in both public and private collections from Maine to Florida, with the majority located in the Southeastern United States.
